Based in Paragon's New York office, Mr. Hayes specializes in environmental and toxic tort insurance/reinsurance claims and collections with ceding companies and reinsurers. His expertise in the resolution, management, collection and allocation of complex reinsurance claims has helped his clients avoid potential collection pitfalls and resolve legal issues, resulting in an accelerated recovery process. In his 15-year career before joining Paragon's Reinsurance Practice in 2008, Mr. Hayes served in a variety of highly specialized roles relating to long-tail environmental and toxic tort claims. He was a reinsurance litigation manager for a Top 5 global insurer, and served as an Associate at one of the nation's premier law firms for reinsurance coverage and litigation/arbitration. Mr. Hayes graduated from University of South Carolina with a B.A. in History and International Studies. He earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University, with core studies in Corporate Securities and Insurance Law.
